I have been an artist since I was born. Early on,  I loved working with clay, paints and sketching.  I created anything I could, even with glitter and glue!

I enjoy all forms of art. It is a relaxing outlet for me, be it drawing, painting, ceramics or 3D art. I am a junior at Saint Teresa’s Academy (Kansas City, MO) and currently in Ceramics II class.

I come from artistic and creative families, especially with ceramics. I took my first ceramics class freshman year in high school. My “Bubbles” vase (shown below) was awarded Honorable Mention by 2020 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and the Kansas City Art Institute.

I was asked if I would like to be a part of MoonRiver pottery and work with Pam Anderson (founder) in her studio. She happens to be my grandmother, as well. I said yes! This is an opportunity for me to use my love of painting and drawing on my ceramic pieces. I am excited with the opportunity to experiment with the many shapes and forms clay can take on.

I work part time at WeeCreate helping with kids camps and children’s art classes. This is super fun for me. The joy art can bring to children as they learn to create is amazing, especially under the tutelage of a skilled art teacher like Amy major, owner.

My love of nature and animals is reflected in my work.  The subject matter I choose, as well as the paint and glazes I use, can express what I am intrigued with. I enjoy working with slab clay, coil and pinching to create free-form pieces, letting them take on natural shapes.

I can’t wait to see where this new journey takes me and I look forward to learning how to be a great ceramicist.
